Sales at the beauty shop-in-shops fell for the second straight quarter, and the department store expects that to continue for the rest of the year.

Kohl’s Wednesday reported progress in its turnaround , as Q2 net sales fell less than 1% year on year to $3.3 billion, with comps also down less than 1%. Sephora at Kohl’s sales fell 4%, after dropping in Q1 .
Gross margin expanded by 305 basis points to 43%, helped by some $150 million in tariff refunds, which will go to inventory reduction, vendors and price cuts. Net income fell over 1% to $151 million.
The department store raised its full-year guidance, with net sales and comp sales now expected to be flat or fall as much as 1.5% compared to 2025, up from flat to down 2% . Adjusted operation margin is expected to range from 3.5% to 4%, up from 2.8% to 3.4%.
