Canadian border officers seized about 385 kilograms of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck at Blue Water Bridge. The discovery occurred Aug. 13 in Point Edward, Ontario. Authorities announced the case Aug. 25, nearly two weeks later. The drugs weighed almost 849 pounds.
Canada Border Services Agency officers referred the truck for secondary examination at the port of entry. During that review, officers detected and seized the suspected narcotics. CBSA arrested the driver after the discovery. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police then took over the criminal investigation.
