TikTok Shop highlighted the continued rise of discovery-led commerce as a defining force shaping digital retail growth in the Philippines, as it convened over 850 brands, sellers, creators, and ecosystem partners at Summit Pilipinas 2026 . Centering on the theme “Scaling Businesses to New Heights,” discussions focused on how short-form video, LIVE commerce, and creator-led content are converging to shorten the path between product discovery and purchase. Discovery e-commerce reshaping brand growth With consumer shopping behavior shifting away from traditional intent-based search toward content-led discovery, where products are encountered organically through entertainment content and creator-driven recommendations, TikTok Shop has redefined how brands approach visibility, engagement, and conversion. “We are seeing a clear shift in e-commerce behavior, where entertainment drives discovery, community drives trust, and creators drive consideration,” said Franco Aligaen, Marketing Lead at TikTok Shop. “TikTok Shop sits at the heart of this transformation, as it transitions users from inspiration to discovery to purchase in one seamless experience through shoppable content and community videos.” Within this environment, TikTok Shop Mall continues to support brands through curated storefronts and integrated platform tools that connect content discovery with transactional pathways. The OnTrend program also gives brands a look at emerging trends, relevant keywords, and insights across categories, complemented by creator collaborations opportunities, which allow trusted local and international brands to reach a highly engaged audience. TikTok Shop, leading brands, MSMEs, and government agencies participated in discussions on discovery e-commerce, MSME empowerment, and the importance of trust in strengthening the Philippines’ digital commerce ecosystem. We’ve seen consumers engage with products in ways that feel more organic, interactive, and community-driven. Shoppertainment has helped us achieve our sales targets, and more importantly, allowed us to participate in conversations and moments that are already relevant to consumers,” said Co . With brands under TikTok Shop Mall's Joint Business Partnership program seeing as high as 6.5x GMV growth, TikTok Shop Mall has reinforced how integrated commerce tools directly translate to performance, helping drive visibility and conversion in an environment that combines trust, authenticity, and discovery. MSMEs expand reach through content-led selling Summit Pilipinas also pointed to MSMEs' growing participation in digital commerce, particularly how content-led selling models are enabling smaller businesses to access broader markets without the traditional constraints of scale or physical distribution. Programs such as TikTok Shop's Unlad Lokal, which has trained over 25,000 MSMEs nationwide on short-form video production, LIVE selling, affiliate marketing, and platform tools, are designed to help local entrepreneurs translate content engagement into measurable business outcomes. These efforts are further supported by ongoing expansion in Visayas and Mindanao, alongside industry partnerships aimed at extending digital commerce access beyond major urban centers and into emerging local business communities. “For many MSMEs, digital commerce can feel difficult to navigate at the beginning, especially when resources are limited and competition is high. What helped Dermorepubliq grow on TikTok Shop was the ability to connect with customers through content in a more direct and authentic way, while also learning how to adapt quickly to what audiences respond to in real time. The platform gave us access to tools and opportunities that made online selling more approachable and sustainable as we scaled the business,” said Brad Veleña, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dermorepubliq . Strengthening trust, safety, and intellectual property protection Alongside growth and inclusion, TikTok Shop emphasized that sustaining consumer trust remains central to the long-term development of digital commerce in the Philippines. This includes continued investment in platform safety systems, enforcement mechanisms, and collaboration with government and industry stakeholders to ensure a secure shopping environment for users and sellers alike. “Strengthening consumer trust and intellectual property protection requires sustained collaboration across platforms, government, brands, and sellers. Initiatives that combine stronger enforcement mechanisms with seller and consumer education play an important role in promoting a safer and more accountable online marketplace. We welcome continued collaboration with platforms such as TikTok Shop in advancing shared efforts to protect both consumers and intellectual property rights in the digital space. At the core of brand identity protection, trust and innovation must go hand in hand in order to afford a safe digital environment for all,” said Atty. Christine V. Pangilinan-Canlapan, Director IV of the Bureau of Legal Affairs and Supervising Director of the IP Rights Enforcement Office (IEO), IPOPHL .
